As part of the Met Office's winter WeatherReady campaign, they have worked with partners to provide a series of simple #WeatherHacks to help you during the winter months.

The advice is from a number of organisations including the Royal Life Saving Society, the RAC, the British Veterinary Association, Cycling UK, the UK Health Security Agency and the RNLI.

Advice includes:

• Advice from the RAC on preparing your vehicle for long journeys

• Information from the British Veterinary Association for looking after your pets in the winter.

•  Details about how winter weather can affect cycling.

• A guide to protecting your property from flooding.
