A “dedicated’’ group of Lancashire Resilience Forum volunteers have been honoured for their efforts.
The volunteers, who are part of the Forum’s Telecommunications Support Team, were named as the Volunteer Team of the Year at Lancashire Constabulary’s Citizens in Policing awards for their work to develop communications systems to support local communities and the emergency services at time of need.
The team’s citation stated: “This is a team of eight enthusiastic and conscientious volunteers whose purpose is to support the Lancashire Resilience Forum in their duties in support of the Civil Contingences Act.
“They are all incredibly dedicated and commit hundreds of hours each year to supporting the Constabulary and communities across Lancashire. They are an invaluable asset as they bring their professional expertise to improve resilience to our communities and partner agencies.’’
The team received their awards from Lancashire Constabulary’s Assistant Chief Constable, Stasia Osiowy, and Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire Andrea Challis.
