Emergency exercises test humanitarian assistance plans
LRF-funded sessions provide valuable learning for partners
If you’re planning to enjoy Lancashire’s moorland areas, please be aware that a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) is in place across parts of Bolton, Blackburn with Darwen and Chorley.
These restrictions help protect our countryside from the risk of wildfires, which can still occur even without prolonged hot weather.
Under the PSPO, the following are not allowed:
• Barbecues and campfires
• Camping stoves
• Fireworks and sky lanterns
These rules are in place for a reason. Fires like the devastating 2018 Winter Hill blaze caused significant damage to the landscape, wildlife and nearby communities.
Breaching the PSPO is a criminal offence and could result in a £1,000 fine.
Let’s all enjoy Lancashire safely and responsibly this bank holiday.
