Fire Service launches Business Safety Month
Firms across Lancashire encouraged to review fire safety arrangements in August
Businesses across Lancashire are being encouraged to review their fire safety arrangements as Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service launches Business Fire Safety Month.
Throughout August, the service’s Protection teams will be sharing practical advice and guidance to help businesses understand their fire safety responsibilities and ensure they comply with current regulations.
As part of the campaign, businesses across the county will receive information leaflets covering key fire safety topics, including fire risk assessments, fire safety arrangements and business continuity planning. The leaflets will also direct business owners and managers to additional resources and support available through Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.
Many fires in the workplace are preventable, and taking simple steps to identify and manage fire risks can make a significant difference in protecting employees, customers and property. Business Fire Safety Month aims to help organisations understand what is required of them and where they can access support if needed.
The service's Protection teams work with businesses throughout the year, providing advice, carrying out inspections and helping responsible persons understand and meet their legal duties. The campaign provides an opportunity to reinforce these important messages and encourage businesses to review their fire safety arrangements.
