The Lancashire Resilience Forum has welcomed a new chair.

Temporary Assistant Chief Constable Hassan Khan has taken over the role from ACC Gareth Lee who has recently taken over the Constabulary’s Crime and Specialist Capabilities portfolio and says he is looking forward to working with partners from across the county.

T/ACC Khan said: “It is a privilege to have joined the Chief Officer Team at Lancashire Constabulary and been given the opportunity to lead the resilience forum.

“There is a major focus on making our local communities more able to prepare for, and respond to, any major incidents or emergencies and the resilience forum is vital to this.

 “It is a team of dedicated, experienced emergency planners from the blue light services, councils and major Lancashire companies who all play a vital role in supporting our communities and I am looking forward to working with everyone to build on the excellent work already taking place across the county.” 

Previously a Chief Superintendent and the Divisional Commander for the area including Blackpool, T/ACC Khan joined the Constabulary in 2004, starting his career as a Police Constable in Ribble Valley. 

He has undertaken a breadth of uniform roles across all three divisions of the force and has held several senior management positions, including Operations Manager in both Specialist Operations and South Division, during which time he was accredited as a force Tactical Firearms Commander. 

He is a Gold Public Order Commander and Strategic Firearms Commander.
