As we start the summer holidays Counter Terrorism Policing are encouraging the public to stay alert and report anything that does not feel right so as head out to enjoy leisure activities, festivals and other major events this summer, please remain vigilant and report anything that causes you concern.

Large gatherings and busy public spaces can be attractive targets for terrorists, making public awareness an important part of keeping communities safe.

We are supporting Counter Terrorism Policing's Summer Vigilance Campaign, which encourages everyone to stay alert whilst enjoying themselves.

Event organisers, venues, transport hubs and businesses are also encouraged to make clear and consistent vigilance messaging a key part of their planning. Promoting the campaign and adopting security-minded communications can provide an additional layer of protective security, helping to deter hostile activity and increase public awareness.

Counter Terrorism Policing’s campaign activity includes providing the most up-to-date information that will keep the public safe in the event of a terrorist incident, reminding people that the Run Hide Tell advice can save lives.

Guidance on how you can help keep our communities safe, including what suspicious activity to look out for, and confidential reporting is available at www.gov.uk/act.
